The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is an accreditation agency that aims to establish, assess, and promote recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for the protection and benefit of the public. The National Institutes of Health (NIH)is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services and is the primary agency of the United States government responsible for biomedical and health-related research. They have also done extensive studies on acupuncture, and their research and findings can be found here:
